In the list below we will include all the Windows Phone 8 smartphones that will be officially announced. We expect their number to increase by the end of the current IFA conference in Berlin, since there are quite a few important names that didn’t yet announce Windows 8 devices. What many of us are still waiting for are Windows Phone 8 smartphones from Nokia. Be sure to bookmark this page and visit it regularly, as well definitely keep it updated.

List with released Windows Phone 8 smartphones

Samsung ATIV S

We’ve already talked about the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the ATIV S handset from Samsung. Obviously, what sets it apart from the rest is the fact that it is the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone in the world, and it is made by Samsung and not Nokia. It has quite a pleasant metalic look on the back that gives it a robust allure. The 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display and the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 are there to give you an impressive and resistant display. It will come with an 8MP camera and will most likely record at 1080p. On the power side, it will come with a powerful 1.5 Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM. If the 2300mAh battery will perform above the average, then this might prove to be a winning feature. Also, those that appreciate ergonomics, they will find the 8.7 mm thinness to be quite a design caprice. pricing – yet uknown; availability – yet unknown

Nokia – Lumia 820, 920

Nokia has just launched the latest version of it Lumia range – the 820 and the 920 models. As always, there are two models – one that has more functionality, thus selling at a bigger price, and another one with weaker specifications, aimed for the entry level consumer. Just like we’ve highlighted, the Nokia Lumia 920 comes with a quite big 4.5 inch display that Nokia and Microsoft officials have described as being very impressive, calling it a smartphone with one of the most impressive displays on the market. Nokia Lumia 920 seems to be a very well-thought smartphone, as it also comes with a few accessories that have access to Nokia 920’s music thanks to its NFC: the JBL headphones and speaker. Lumia 920 has a battery of 2000 mAh and a 1.5 Ghz processor from Snapdragon. The RAM inside is at 1GB. Bot probably the main atractions are the PureView 8.7 MP camera that is said to deliver very clear pictures and the wireless charging technology, present there under the form of the Fatboy pad. The smaller sister, Nokia Lumia 820, comes with rounded edges and seems a little more bulkier than 920. It has a slightly smaller display of 4.3 inch but it features exchangeable covers, which is an interesting feature that will be appreciated that get easily bored by a single cover. Also, you can add wireless charging and NFC capabilities by using one of those covers, but it seems that you’ll have to buy it separately. Fortunately, the Lumia 820 features the same processor as the 920 but it has a weaker WVGA OLED display that will not be able to deliver the same quality as Lumia 920’s camera. Also, it has the same super sensitive touch technology that is found on the Lumia 920 and allows to touch the screen with the gloves on. Both Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 will be first retailed under the AT&T banner, but there’s no word yet on the pricing. pricing – yet uknown; availability – late Octomber

HTC 8S, HTC 8X

HTC has joined the Windows Phone 8 platform with two new smartphones: the Windows Phone 8X and the Windows Phone 8S. Yes, these are the names of the phones and for HTC’s sake, we can only hope that the consumers will call them the HTC 8S and the HTC 8X. The smartphones don’t have anything revolutionary inside, maybe only for music lovers, you should know that both models have the Beats Audio Technology embedded. From these two, the better one is the 8X model as it has the following things to impress with: 4.3-inch HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, NFC support, 8-megapixel camera with HTC ImageChip, 2 MB front-facing camera, 1,800 mAh embedded battery, Beats audio technology, LTE. It doesn’t have anything revolutionary, but it has nice specs. The battery seems big enough to support  the 4.3 inch screen and the powerful processor. The design is what impresses and we’re sure early reviews will have that mentioned. Windows Phone 8S isn’t that impressive but you won’t say no if somebody were to give it to you for free. A weaker 4.0-inch WVGA display, weaker 1.0GHz dual-core S4 processor, smaller 512MB RAM and 4GB storage make it a low-entry choice. It also has a 5 MP camera, Gorilla Glass to protect its screen and a goodie – the Beats Audio technology is also present in the model. With a right price, I’m sure there will be enough consumers to fall “prey” to it. pricing – yet unknown; availability – late October/November
